Gold prices on Saturday declined by Rs 15 to Rs 14,780 per 10 gram in the bullion market here on profit selling by stockists at higher levels. Silver also tumbled by Rs 750 to Rs 22,200 per kg on heavy selling by stockists at existing higher levels amid reduced offtake by industrial units. Marketmen said fall in demand mainly sparked selling by traders to book profits. They said emergence of heavy selling by stockists amid poor offtake by industrial units at existing higher levels mainly pulled down silver prices.

Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said Friday that there was a risk that US economic recovery could take a long time, but vowed to take all necessary steps to speed it up.

So 3800 may be the last upside move of Nifty. Book Profit and Sell at higher level.

On 28.04.2009, The Sensex had witnessed a firm trend and had surged over 500 points on strong buying over the last three sessions. However, bears hit back strongly today and triggered a major sell-off during intra-day trades. Tracking weak Asian markets, the 30-stock Sensex started the day with a negative gap at 11371 and continued to slide down. After plunging below 11000-mark to touch the day's low of 10962, the market moved within a range with a negative bias. Towards the close, the market witnessed panic selling and the Sensex ended 370 points down at 11002 while the 50-stock index, Nifty, shed 108 points to close at 3362.

In spite of substantial volatility, the Sensex continued its upward momentum, ending firm above 11300 on late buying in banking, consumer durables and capital goods stocks.The market continued to scale up and closed firm above 11300 levels. Exhibiting a choppy trend in early trades, the Sensex gyrated over 50 points after the opening bell and slipped below 11000 mark on sustained selling pressure to touch the day's low of 11070. Recovery started thereafter and the market rebounded into the positive territory in afternoon. Substantial buying in banking, consumer durables (CD), capital goods and technology stocks saw the Sensex notch up significant gains in late trades and touch a new intra-day high of 11363. The Sensex wrapped the session 194 points higher at 11329, while the 50-stock Nifty gained 57 points to close at 3481.
